Sage FAS version 2008.1 Release

The 2008.1 Tax Update contains exciting new features and enhancements to your Sage FAS solution, as well as the enhancements from the 2007.2 Feature Update. The following changes apply to FAS Asset Accounting:

1. Updated Tax Forms: The 2008.1 tax update includes the updated IRS Form 4562
   – Depreciation and Amortization for 2007.
2. Updated Tax Limits: The 2008.1 tax update complies with the scheduled
   increase in the Section 179 limits and luxury auto limits.
3. Two New Property Tax Reports: These new property tax reports will assist you
   in filing your property tax returns.
4. Four New Links: We have added four new links to the Links menu.
5. New Version of FAS Compliance Advisor: You must install version 1.3 of FAS Compliance Advisor to be compatible with the 2008.1 Tax Update version of FAS
   Asset Accounting.
6. Tax Law Updates: We have updated the Sage FAS program to comply with the latest tax law changes:
   • Extension for Section 179D Property
   • New Section 179E Deduction for Advanced Mine Safety Equipment
   • Extension of 168(k) Allowance for GO Zone Property
   • New 168(k) Allowance for Cellulosic Biomass Ethanol Plant Property
7. New “Sage FAS Universal Link” Post in Detail Option: You can now use the
   link to post a detailed journal entry that includes the system number, asset
   extension number, and asset description.

The following changes apply to all Sage FAS products (including FAS Asset Accounting, FAS Asset Inventory, and FAS CIP Accounting):

1. Set Default File Location: You can now specify the default folder for saving files
   in the application.
2. Windows Authentication Available to Sage FAS Users: You can now get the
   power of the Windows operating system password enforcement to secure your
   Sage FAS data and enjoy a single sign-in process. The FAS security system has
   been updated to work with a list of Windows Authenticated users for improved
   security with one less user name and password to remember.
3. Windows Vista Compatibility: All Sage FAS applications can run on the new
   Windows Vista operating system.

4. Network Installation Improvements: The network (client/server) editions of the
   Sage FAS products have been updated to make the installation and configuration
   process even faster and easier.

The following change applies to all FAS Asset Inventory versions:

1. Three New Bar Code Readers Offered: FAS Asset Inventory now offers three
   new Windows Vista compatible bar code readers with improved memory and
   battery life.
